Motwane, who previously wrote and directed Netflix’s first India series Sacred Games and directed CTRL for Netflix, has created “Black Warrant” alongside Satyanshu Singh, who is also a co-director along with Ambiecka Pandit, Arkesh Ajay, and Rohin Raveendran Nair.
The caption of the trailer read:
“Tihar ki bhayaanak jail mein, kaun darr jayega, aur kaun lad jayega? đź‘€
Based on certain real events-Black Warrant from 10th January, only on Netflix.”
In the trailer, Kapoor portrays the character of Sunil Gupta, a tainted participant in the corruptive nature of Tihar jail and, along with his two loyal strongman sidekicks, goes head to head with the prison’s tough punters and coup-mongering energy.
Zahan Kapoor, the grandson of late cinema legend Shashi Kapoor, is making his series debut with the show, a dramatized adaptation of Sunil Gupta, former superintendent at Tihar Jail, and journalist-author Sunetra Choudhury’s book, Black Warrant: The inside stories of Tihar jailer have been revealed here in Confessions of the Tihar Jailer.
