Director Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are making a movie based on the novel “The Devil in the White City.” The story of this creepy man who committed some horrible crimes is real.
Others tried to create a movie based on this novel for over twenty years, however it never happened. Finally, it happening!
However, it’s still very early. Not even a scriptwriter has been hired yet for the film!
Is Leonardo Dicaprio’s “The Devil In The White City” Based On a True Story?
“The Devil in the White City” is a true story of two men whose lives had somehow connected to the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. One was the architect Daniel Burnham, who was trying to build an amazing fair. The other was a serial killer named Henry Holmes, who built a “Murder Castle” to kill women during the fair.
Leonardo DiCaprio bought the rights to make the book into a movie back in 2010. He would have liked to portray the killer and he even wanted Martin Scorsese to direct. Unfortunately, that did not materialize.
Other people tried to make the movie too, but nothing happened. Later in 2019, Hulu wanted to create it as a TV show with Keanu Reeves, but that did not work either and the show got cancelled in 2023.
It has taken quite a long time and confusing journey for this project and a few others will also assist them in producing the film.
‘The Devil In The White City’ Cast
In the film, DiCaprio will be the main star. The full cast is yet to be released yet.
Some of the previous projects of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo Dicaprio include “Gangs of New York”, “The Aviator”, “The Departed”, “Shutter Island”, “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Killers of the Flower Moon”.
No doubt, this director and actor duo have always outshined, and this time watching them come up with a real-life story would be nothing short of brilliance!

The Devil In The White City Release Date
There’s no official confirmation about the release date of the movie yet. As the makers will start with the filming, things will be made public. Until we get any official confirmation from the makers, let’s just wait.
