Season 2 of Paatal Lok ended by revealing who killed Jonathan Thom and where the money Raghu Paswan was supposed to get from Thom’s daughter and mistress, Rose Lizo, went.
Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary got involved in this mess when Geeta Paswan and her son Guddu went to the Outer Jamuna Paar police station to ask for help finding her husband, Raghu. At the same time, ACP Imran Ansari was investigating the murder of Jonathan Thom, a smuggler from Nagaland, and he focused on Rose Lizo because she was seen leaving the room where Jonathan was killed.
When Hathi Ram saw Raghu with Rose in the railway station’s CCTV footage, he teamed up with Ansari to solve the mystery. There were many other people involved, like Reuben (Thom’s Son), Thom’s wife, Asenla, his business partner Kapil Reddy, Kapil’s wife Grace Reddy, the politician Uncle Ken, an assassin named Daniel Acho, and many more.
So, what did Hathi Ram find out in the end, and did he do the right things for those who were wrong? Let’s find out.
Did Hathi Ram Avenge Ansari’s Death
In the last episode of Paatal Lok Season 2, we found that the long meeting between the Indian government, the leaders of Nagaland (including Uncle Ken), and Kapil Reddy in Delhi had ended well.
The Indian government decided to invest a lot of money in the state, and the Naga leaders were happy to return to Dimapur, where they all would be welcomed as heroes for helping the Nagaland. Meanwhile, in Kohima, Hathi Ram got into a big fight with Daniel Acho.
After he found out that Daniel had killed Ansari, Meghna Barua and Ruben, tried to kill Rose, and probably killed Jonathan Thom. The fight ended with Hathi Ram killing Daniel Acho. We then learned that Daniel was Ken’s adopted son and was secretly working for Ken.
After saying goodbye to Isaac (Meghna’s sidekick) who was going to tell Meghna’s young son that she had died on Christmas Day, Hathi Ram went straight to Ken to find out the truth.
Relation Between Daniel And Uncle Ken
Okay, so in December 1997, Daniel’s whole village in Langchoma was destroyed. The show doesn’t say it directly, but it seems like the writers were talking about the real fighting between the Indian Army and some groups in Nagaland who wanted to separate from India. This fight started in 1994 and ended with a peace agreement in 1997, the same year Daniel was brought into the Orphanage.
A rising politician named Rangthong Ken adopted him and trained him to be a killer, skilled at sniping. But does that mean Daniel killed Jonathan? NO.

Who Killed The Drug Lord Thom?
Hathi Ram Choudhary thought the Naga Business Summit would only work if Thom signed the agreement. Thom didn’t care about helping Nagaland, but they needed his support to get lots of money invested there. So, Kapil Reddy tried to pressure Thom by attacking his drug smuggling business. Max Rizu, who worked for Thom, told him about the drug seizure raid, but it didn’t work the way Reddy wanted. “Rather than surrendering, Thom refused to sign the agreement and told Ken about it.”
Hathi Ram thought Ken ordered Daniel to kill Thom, but actually, Ken killed Thom himself (Ken confesses this to Hathi Ram Choudhary)! Daniel just helped him slaughter Thom’s head to make it look like the murders that took place in Nagaland, where the people did not want outsiders investing in their state.
After that, Ken found three people who survived the attack on Daniel’s village in 1997 and had grown up with him. Uncle Ken made them say in the video “They killed Thom” and then Daniel killed all to keep them quiet.
Who Killed Raghu In Paatal Lok Season 2?
On the way to the airport, Hathi Ram found out that Rose had died from her injuries. He had hoped she could tell him something about Raghu Paswan because he got involved in all this trouble while looking for Raghu. Sadly, that wouldn’t happen now. Meanwhile, Raghu’s son, Guddu, was staying with Renu, and Guddu’s grandparents.
Raghu’s friend, Kishore, finally came to pick up Guddu. He also wanted to know about the money Raghu promised to get before Makar Sankranti to pay for his father’s medical bills. Hathi Ram did not have any answers then, but something about Kishore’s auto-rickshaw made him think. He decided to watch the security camera footage of Dhruv Mallik, the owner of the pub where Rose worked, again.
Hathi Ram went after Kishore and his friends, and they finally admitted to killing Raghu. They were arrested right away. It turned out that Raghu had borrowed Kishore’s auto-rickshaw to take Rose somewhere and promised to pay him Rs. 10,000.
But Rose didn’t get her money from Thom, so she couldn’t pay Raghu, and Raghu couldn’t pay Kishore. On the night Thom was killed, Raghu returned the auto-rickshaw to Kishore. Kishore was drunk and got mad at Raghu for taking Rose around Delhi for free. Kishore’s friend, Ajju, hit Raghu and killed him. Then, Shahid, Kishore, and Ajju buried Raghu’s body somewhere far away.
After all this, Hathi Ram told Virk (his boss in the narcotics department) that he wanted to retire for good. But then he suddenly wondered, where was the money Thom was supposed to give Rose? He went to the police evidence room and searched through Thom’s things. He found a torn piece of a 500 rupee note.
Paatak Lok Season 2 Ending Explained
At the end of Paatal Lok Season 2, we saw that same idea used again. With the help of Jitu (Hathi Ram’s brother-in-law) went to Jitu’s friend Bhalla, who knows about money. Hathi Ram showed that guy the torn piece of the 500 rupee note and took out 2 crore rupees.
But Hathi Ram only kept 5 lakh rupees from that huge pile of money and gave it to Raghu’s father who was leaving from Delhi to their village with Guddu.
That was all the money the Paswans needed to pay off what they owed. And that was it! Hathi Ram walked away with a smile on his face, knowing he had solved the case he was given.
We can say, Paatal Lok 2 ended on a perfect note!

Will There Be Paatal Lok Season 3?
Hathi Ram solved everything unofficially and took Ansari’s death avenge. Thom’s case was solved, Raghu got killed, and Kishore is in custody. But if you noticed, Paatak Lok Season 2 ended with Hathi Ram leaving with a smile on his face.
Does this smile indicate a happy ending, or there’s more to unfold yet? There’s no confirmation of getting Paatal Lok Season 3. If ever we get a season three, it is going to be full of suspense, drama, killing, and adventure.

Here are some wicked truths about Rose and Thom.
- Rose was Thom’s daughter, but she was also his mistress. They (Rose & Thom) even had a daughter together, but neither of them knew about it. Their child, Jane, was adopted by Esther, Rose’s friend from rehab.
- When Reuben’s sister found out about this, she killed herself because she was a good friend of Rose from school.
- Asenla, Thom’s wife, thought Rose knew about what Thom had done to her. So, she kept sending Rose 50,000 rupees through Raghu.
- When Dhruv, the pub owner, found out about this, he tried to save his failing business by telling Rose to blackmail Thom and get 2 crore rupees from him. That is why we saw Rose at the Nagaland Sadan on the day when Thom was slaughtered.
- This was the fact when DSP Virk asked Inspector Hathi Ram why Dhruv Mallik was waiting for Rose outside the Nagaland Sadan to get all the money from her.
