After multiple delays, Kangana Ranaut’s political film Emergency was finally released on January 17, 2025. Kangana directed the film. It also stars Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and Shreyas Talpade in key roles.
Despite clashing with Ajay Devgn’s film Azaad, the political drama is popular. On January 17, Kangana hosted a special screening for her friends and family.
Spiritual leader Sadhguru was seen gracing the event. A while ago, the actress shared his reaction to her film on social media.
What Sadhguru Remarked After Watching Kangana’s Emergency
Sadhguru made a special appearance at Kangana Ranaut’s must-awaited movie “Emergency”.
After watching the movie when TakeOneFilmy Reports asked Sadhguru about the movie, and his experience watching the movie, Sadhguru answered:
“Playing such popular roles is not an easy job. I think Kangana has done a great job in the film. The role was complex but presented fantastically.”
Sadhguru further said: “For the kind of scope of things that are there in the story, and to condense it into two and a half hours is not an easy thing to do.”
Not just that, Sadhguru told the Take One Filmy team that “the Emergency movie holds great relevance for today’s youth, particularly those who did not experience the Emergency firsthand. For the younger generation, it’s very important, especially those of them who were not here at that time.”
He further continued, “In two and a half hours, you get to see the major events that happened and shaped the nation in many ways. As a movie, it’s spectacularly presented. Both Kangana’s direction and her performance are extraordinary. It’s one of the finest performances I have seen.”
Kangana, who promoted her directorial work, took to Instagram. She shared heartfelt pictures with Sadhguru from the screening.
In the pictures, we could see Kangana seeking blessings from Sadhguru by touching his feet. In the next picture, we can spot Anupam Kher who played Jayaprakash Narayan in the movie standing beside Kangana and welcoming Sadhguru with flowers.

Emergency’s box office collection day 1
Despite being a theatre clash with Azaad’s movie, Kangana’s Emergency managed to take a decent start at the box office. As per the sources, Emergency collected Rs 2.35 crore on its first day.
This was a good start as this was Kangana’s solo movie in the past five years. Looking at her previous releases like Tejas (2023) which earned ₹1.25 crore on the opening day at the domestic box office, and Dhaakad (2022) which earned ₹1.20 crore at the box office on day one, Kangana’s Emergency movie started off quite well.
With this, it has become Kangana’s biggest opening film in five years. It will be interesting to watch the movie perform in the coming days.
