Stakeholders had a lot of anticipation to watch Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated action-packed thriller, Baby John, but alas, the movie is going to be a box office disaster.
However, the newly released film even though it came out during the peak of the Christmas season has not made much of an impression with the early figures indicating a slow response on the part of the viewers.
Reacting to average response, Baby John has collected a meager Rs 2 crore from morning shows, with 14% occupancy. It slumped to around Rs 4 crore by evening but as expected it never rose beyond Rs 15 crore for the day.
But here’s the twist: Right now, it is still possible to see Allu Arjun in cinemas in Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Even on its 21st day, makers are eyeing a new record as Pushpa 2 could reportedly mint more than Baby John’s first-day collection on this holiday Wednesday! The sequel has already crossed Rs 1000 crore in India and the earnings are still increasing.
Baby John was advertised as an entertainer across the country, with producer Atlee who had a huge hit in Jawan last year. However, despite all the hoopla around the film self-booking of the movie for its first week is a disappointing Rs 5 crore.
Looking at Atlee’s secret formula (let us not forget Theri when it came to Vijay), Baby John was supposed to be on the same lines as the success of Pushpa 2 but then that seems quite impossible now.
