Oscar 2025 is around the corner and every Indian is excited to know which Indian movie will make its way to Oscar Nominations. AMPAS US presents an Oscar in recognition of excellence in cinematic achievements.
AMPAS announced that 323 feature movies are nominated for this year’s Oscar award. And guess what!!! Seven Indian movies make their way to the Best Picture category at the Oscars 2025. Again marks a prestigious moment to represent Indian cinema on the global stage.
AMPAS hosts the 97th Oscar Awards are just two months away. Out of these, 207 movies are in the running for the prestigious Best Picture category.

Aadujeevitham & other Indian Movies Eligible For Best Picture Category
Following are the seven movies that were selected for the Best Picture Category are:
- Kanguva (Tamil)
- Santosh (Hindi)
- Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) (Hindi)
- Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (Hindi)
- Girls will be Girls (Hindi-English)
- All We Imagine as Light (Malayalam-Hindi)
- Putul (Bengali)
Note: According to the reports, the shortlisted movies have not the officially nominated yet. Voting for final list will start on 8 Jan 2025 and close on 12 Jan 2025. After the votes, the final shortlist will be announced on 17 January 2025.
